Disney Wilderness Lodge

Disney Wilderness Lodge has the air of an early 1900 national park lodge.
It replicates the lodges of the 1900 American National Park, and was opened in May 1994.

Resort

Theme and atmosphere

The theme is sustained by the minutely designed specific details — the massive fireplace in the lobby reminding of the Grand Canyon, the two authentic 55-foot Pacific Northwest totem poles, the hardwood floor, the Native American rugs.

The rooms, though small, are themed in detail – the rugs, the drapery, are all themed by specific design and motifs.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is located on the Southwest shore of Bay Lake, East of the Magic Kingdom.

  • Boat transportation – The only way to Magic Kingdom is by boat. Boats are shared with Fort Wilderness.
  • Maximum room occupancy – The only deluxe resort that sleeps four.
  • Noise – There is a little noise heard from the courtyard view rooms especially at mid-day and in the evening.
  • View – Trees prevent a good view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
  • Character dining – not available.
